The February 26th, 2024 meeting for members and guests of Nobscot Sail and Power Squadron / America's Boating Club of Metrowest Boston will be held at Welly's Restaurant, Marlborough, MA. Past District Commander Joe Kelliher, of GBH Squadron, will entertain us as he shares his experience while on the Le Boat Rideau Canal Cruise in Canada this past September which was organized by D24 District Commander Steve Hayes. USPS members from six states and seven districts met in Smith Falls Ontario for a 7 day Le Boat bareboat charter cruise of the central portion of the Rideau Canal. Two couples from Charles River and two from Great Blue Hill filled one of the three boats. The scenery on the cruise easily competes with the best parts of the Maine coast without the tides, fog or lobster pots! The boats were well equipped, comfortable with four cabins having their own heads and showers and plenty of room above and below decks.

Joe shares how he found that the most remarkable aspect of Le Boat is that they encourage people with NO boating experience to charter their boats. He didn’t understand how they could do that, but they do!

Dinner Choices:

1.    Baked Stuffed Haddock - $18.00

2.    GF Steak Tips with mushrooms and onions - $19

3.    Maple and Mustard Crusted Pork Chops - $12

Dining will be in a private function room. Alcoholic and soft drinks can be purchased at the bar or through the wait staff. The Commander's Club has chipped in $10.00 toward your meal so the prices above reflect a great bargain price!
