Southeastern New England / District 34 USPS Founders’ Day Celebration
Please join us in Newport, RI as we meet fellow boaters and friends, listen to our keynote address, enjoy lunch, and celebrate the history of USPS/America’s Boating Club.
Saturday, 18 May 2024 from 0900 to 1400.
$30/person for morning refreshments, lunch, and parking until 1600 at the venue.
The United States Power Squadron (USPS) was founded 110 years ago in 1914 by Rear Commodore John Upton of the Boston Yacht Club, Charles F. Chapman, author of the boatmen’s bible Piloting, Seamanship and Small Boat Handling, and others to formalize the education and training of civilian boaters and it grew into the nations’ foremost recreational boating organization.

1000 History of Narragansett Sail and Power Squadron by Cdr Denis Moonan, AP.
1015 Swearing in ceremony for Narraganset Squadron Bridge Officers.
1030 Introduction of Keynote speaker.
1035 Keynote address.
1130 Questions and answer session with speaker.
1145 Catered lunch.
1400 Adjournment.
